Raj Academy of Asian Music, founded by Professor Surinder Singh in 1994, is the world's largest school for Sikh and traditional Indian music.
Our educational guideline and source of inspiration is the sacred scripture Siri Guru Granth Sahib, first compiled in 1604 by Guru Arjan, the fifth Guru of the Sikh lineage.
Our pathway is Gurmat Sangeet, the sacred art and science of singing and playing hymns from Siri Guru Granth Sahib in the prescribed rágs using the original string instruments.
Our goal is Nád Yoga, the union of soul and destiny by experience of the eternal sound current nád in order to elevate, heal, live happily and serve.
Raj Academy is working on some exciting projects, including TV programs, CDs, books, and stories.
The Mission of Raj Academy is to teach and promote the sacred art and science of singing and playing the hymns from the Holy Scripture Siri Guru Granth Sahib, adhering to the prescribed Rágs and original instruments for elevation, holistic healing, and spiritual growth worldwide.
